Thinking Fast and Slow is so relevant in the AI-hype era

Judge a man by the quality of his questions, rather than by his answers.
—Voltaire
The comparison between applied intelligence (ai) and artificial intelligence (AI) reveals them to be fundamentally different. For scientific analysis, we refer to Daniel Kahneman, a Nobel Prize winner recognized for his groundbreaking work that introduced psychological insights into the science of decision-making.
In his bestselling book Thinking, Fast and Slow, “A masterpiece…This is one of the greatest and most engaging collections of insights into the human mind I have read,” says William Easterly of the Financial Times. Kahneman explains the optimal thinking process by identifying two systems of thinking; human decision-making is driven by two distinct cognitive systems:
System 1 (fast, intuitive), which operates automatically and emotionally, and System 2 (slow, analytical), which is effortful, logical, and deliberative. His research reveals that to better understand how effective decisions are made and how strategies can be optimally formulated, a reasoning-based cognitive model must be employed, i.e., applied intelligence, a first principles-based thinking and reasoning system to develop effective strategies for winning: ai is System 2, and AI is System 1.
The two systems are a choice that we make every day, about how we want to think and the level of intellectual depth we wish to engage in to achieve our goals. By going fast (System 1), we choose not to learning and improve our knowledge and know-how. We unwittingly degrade our intelligence capabilities, including our ingenuity, creativity, and our capacity for innovation.
LLMs are fast, intuitive, inauthentic, and limited by the boundaries of their training data. Accordingly, ChatGPT/Sam Altman is fake, only the appearance of intelligence, a parlour trick, deeply flawed and plagued with intrinsic systemic biases and basic errors in judgment. Hallucinations, therefore, are an inherent part of the LLM design that can’t be gotten around.
System 1, i.e., ChatGPT, is associated with quick, narrow, and summarized responses. The system merely aims to demonstrate how smart it is—heuristic. It does not delve deeply and cannot process meaning in context to the real world, underscoring its unreliability and capacity for infinite hallucinations. Hence, can’t be trusted.
The applied intelligence (ai) process, on the other hand, is slower, deliberate, open-minded, thoughtful, logical, and designed to ask more questions rather than rush to judgments. By design, 6ai IP avoids hallucinations; coupled with the fact that LLMs are not natural language translators, the language is only intelligible to the machine itself, which doesn’t know the real world, hence doesn’t know meaning.
It's just an “Impossible Language,” says Noam Chomsky, a former MIT professor, public intellectual known as the father of modern linguistics.
S2/ai is associated with more thoughtful engagement and employing the Socratic conversational method of questioning. Geared more toward learning and acquiring the most relevant, clarifying and insight-generating information before rendering a response.

Challenging assumptions and belief systems, testing ideas and generating more logical thoughts for consideration lead to even better-constructed questions. Questions focused on drilling down on the core of the subject matter in search of what is objectively true, which is central to ai.
Looking at multiple perspectives, finding the gaps in logic, and at the underlying assumptions behind the idea and how that matches up against the marketplace realities, present, and in potential future worlds, is essential to learning and can't be achieved by LLMs. This can only be done through the authentic applied intelligence process: understanding how to apply one's intelligence effectively is critical to knowing how to win!
The quick and dirty, cursory summarization answers don't help you learn, nor set you apart from the ignorant head—you become part of it.
The 6ai Technologies software guides the user through the Question and Response process for a higher-dimensional level of information retrieval, extracting and processing the most relevant and useful insights, identifying the landscape and the winning conditions, to move the user confidently to the strategy development stage.
6ai is aligned for optimal conscious contextualization decisioning…adhering to a series of steps to arrive at coherent, warrantable outputs instead of spewing quick, shallow, and repetitive responses, which are often just nonsense.
6ai is aligned with how success happens because true success requires strategy, and strategy requires serious people with a willingness to put in real effort: real work.
People who want to make an impact in the world and are willing to adopt a disciplined, proven scientific method to help make it happen for themselves and/or organization.
There are no shortcuts, not even with AI. Nothing has fundamentally changed about achieving success in the last 2000 years.
So, the choice is a straightforward one: S1/ChatGPT or S2/ai.
